Boy, we bet it's difficult to bounce back from something as controversial and invasive as a sex video scandal. Even more so if you're as famous as Wally Bayola—who we'd never associated with anything explicit prior to his alleged scandal. How can he redeem himself from this predicament? Mahirap ma-Bayola!

We know you're in a massive pickle right now, brother Wally, and we do agree an apology is in order and that it would be best for you to lay low at the moment. Do know however that all public scandals, while never forgotten, are bound to dwindle down sooner rather than later. Give it a few years, sir. Everything ain't as bad as it seems. Well, we hope...

Take Katrina Halili, for example, who went from cybercrime sex victim to blissful yummy mommy in a few years' time. The Kapuso actress even claims she's forgiven those who have done her wrong during her personal shitstorm.

There's also Maricar Reyes, who used all the unwarranted attention brought to her by her sex scandal to make a name for herself as a dramatic actress. Nowadays, the newlywed is a household name for all the right reasons.

Even Hayden Kho had the tibay ng apog to launch his own line of fragrance less than a year after becoming the country's most condemned man. If the public had the heart to give this guy a second chance, we say you Wally boy are going to be just fine

That being said, we do admit we have a bit of an agenda behind these feel-good comeback stories. Is everyone cool with us making light of this scandalous trend just this one time?

An alleged sex video of comedian Walter James Bayola who co-hosts the TV noontime show Eat Bulaga circulated online after it was uploaded in the video sharing site YouTube.

The TV personality was apparently the person filmed having sex with one of the show's dancers.

The private video went viral early Tuesday with its links and screenshots being shared and trending in social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

The circulation of video scandals remains rampant in the Philippines despite the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009. Under the law, any person is prohibited to “to take photo or video coverage of a person or group of persons performing sexual act or any similar activity,” or “to copy or reproduce, or to cause to be copied or reproduced, such photo or video or recording of sexual act or any similar activity,” and “to sell or distribute, or cause to be sold or distributed, such photo or video or recording…”

Those found guilty of committing any of said prohibited acts will be penalized with imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than seven years and a fine of not less than P100,000 but not more than P500,000 or both, at the court’s discretion, the law said. (Ron B. Lopez)
