Deniece Cornejo Bought A Laptop with an Editing Software

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has sent a subpoena to a computer store in Quezon City where model Deniece Cornejo bought a laptop after the alleged rape attempt by actor-comedian Vhong Navarro.

CCTV footage inside the store showed a woman, allegedly Cornejo, entering the computer store last January 26, just four days after businessman Cedric Lee and several others mauled Navarro inside Cornejo's condo unit in Forbeswood Heights.

January 26 is the same date when Navarro's first interview after the mauling came out on "Buzz ng Bayan." In the interview, Navarro denied trying to rape Cornejo and said it was Lee and company who beat and tied him up, pointed a gun at him and tried to blackmail him.

Cornejo later asked Forbeswood condominium security if she could take a look at the CCTV footage, claiming she had lost some personal items.

Several sources told ABS-CBN News that Cornejo was looking for a laptop with video editing software, a claim that was denied by Cornejo's spokesman, Raymond Fortun.

"She needed a laptop with photo editing because she is a model," he said.

He also warned against imputing malice in Cornejo's purchase of the laptop, and blowing it out of proportion.

"Naninira lang sila kay Deniece," he said.

The NBI has subpoenaed the computer store to release a copy of the sales receipt for Cornejo's purchase of the laptop. The laptop is worth P28,000 and the buyer was identified as Cornejo.

"Mahalaga pa rin yun kasi me circumstance...aalamin natin yun," said Atty. Efren Meneses, regional director of the NBI National Capital Region.

He said the NBI representatives will manifest during the preliminary investigation of the complaints filed by Cornejo and Navarro that they will submit additional evidence in the case.

Meantime, the NBI has also secured copies of several CCTV footage taken before and after the mauling of Navarro.

The CCTV footage were taken on January 17, 22 and 23. Navarro was mauled late evening of January 22.

The NBI refused to give details about the new footage, saying that Justice Secretary Leila de Lima ordered them not to release it.[source]
